Members of the Randolph Fire Department recently visited the South Shore Stars Randolph Preschool to speak to children about the fire service and show them some gear.
Firefighters/EMT-Paramedics Cheri Patten and Kris Kronillis stopped by in April and brought along their turnout gear and a department Brush Fire Truck.
In return, the kids created a poster thanking the firefighters for their visit.
The visit is part of the department’s Student Awareness of Fire Education (SAFE) Program, a state program that provides grants to local fire departments to teach fire and life safety to children in schools, with protection education lessons that increase in complexity with each grade level.
Randolph Fire recently received a $7,200 grant through the SAFE Program that will allow firefighters to visit schools and teach fire safety.
