RANDOLPH — Randolph Fire Chief of Operations Paul Frew reports that the Randolph Fire Department responded to and battled a serious house fire on Thursday evening.

Randolph Police and Fire responded at 6:05 p.m. to 15 Joyce Circle, a 1.5 story raised-ranch style single family house, for a report of a building fire. An arriving Randolph Police officer reported seeing smoke showing from the house. Firefighters arrived within minutes, and had fire showing from a three-season porch, which had extended to the kitchen and up into the attic. A second alarm was struck, sending addition fire resources to the scene.
The residents reported to first responders that all occupants had safely escaped the home before the arrival of firefighters.
Crews made a fast, aggressive interior attack with multiple hose lines, while the Randolph Ladder 1 crew ventilated the fire by cutting into the roof.
No injures were reported.
Four people were displaced, and aid will be made available to them if needed. The American Red Cross was notified.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Avon, Braintree, Holbrook and Milton Fire Departments. Randolph Fire Headquarters was covered by the Weymouth Fire Department, and Station 2 was covered by crews from the Canton and Stoughton Fire Departments.
The Boston Sparks Association A-10 Incident Support Unit responded to the scene to provide rehab and canteen services to the firefighters. Chief Frew wishes to sincerely thank the Sparks Association for their tireless support of first responders.
The origin and cause of the fire will be under investigation by investigators from the Randolph Fire Department. The fire did not immediately appear to be suspicious.
