RANDOLPH — Chief Ronald Cassford is pleased to announce that 3 Randolph firefighters graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA) on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters Michael Morse, Mikealbert Tabayoyong, and Emmanuel Neal were among the 31 graduates from 14 fire departments to graduate from the Academy’s Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program Class #321. The graduates completed the 50-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program at the Captain T. Dustin Alward, Firefighting Academy, Stow campus.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Chief Cassford, other chiefs and members of departments, and the recruits’ families and friends.
“On behalf of the Randolph Fire Department, I would like to congratulate Firefighters Morse, Tabayoyong and Neal on their graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Career Recruit Program,” said Chief Cassford. “These graduates are now well-prepared to serve the Randolph community and we look forward to welcoming them to the department.”
The program teaches the essentials of fire and non-fire conditions, life safety, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operation and fire attack. The graduates are now certified at the level of Firefighter I and II and in hazardous material operation.
“Massachusetts Firefighting Academy instructors draw on decades of experience in the fire service to train new recruits,” said Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Director Eric Littmann. “Through consistent classroom instruction and practical exercises, today’s graduates have developed the tools they’ll need to work seamlessly with veteran firefighters in their home departments and in neighboring communities as mutual aid.”
The other 28 graduates of Class #321 represent the fire departments of Acton, Beverly, Boxborough, Gloucester, Haverhill, Ipswich, Natick, Northborough, Plymouth, Scituate, Southborough, Wellesley, and Woburn.
